This page walks you through your whole visit, from arriving at the clinic to paying at the end. You do not need an appointment — just come during our opening hours.
Our reception staff speak Japanese only. Showing them this screen is enough — you do not need to say anything.

Dr. Tetsuya Kanai, Dr. Manabu Inoue and Dr. Hideo Kanai see patients in English. On every day the clinic is open, at least one of them is working, so you do not need to plan around a particular day.
We do have other doctors, and they consult in Japanese. If you show the card above at reception, we will arrange it for you.
Come any time during our opening hours: 9:00–11:45 in the morning and 14:30–18:00 in the afternoon. We are closed on Wednesdays, Saturday afternoons, Sundays and national holidays.
There are 40 free parking spaces. From Kamatori Station it is a 3-minute walk from the south exit.
Show your health insurance card or My Number Card at the desk. You will be given a short form to fill in about your symptoms. If you have a referral letter, please hand it over at the same time.
We will call you by name when it is your turn. You may step outside while you wait — just let the reception desk know before you go.
In the consulting room, tell the doctor what is wrong and anything you are worried about. You can speak English.
If the doctor needs to look further, tests can be done here: CT, X-ray, ultrasound, blood tests, ECG, urine tests and tests for infections. Gastroscopy and colonoscopy are also available.
If you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or think you may be pregnant, please tell the doctor.
Some medicines are given to you here at the clinic. For others you will receive a prescription to take to a pharmacy nearby.
You pay at the reception desk. We accept cash, VISA, Mastercard and JCB.
You will be given a patient card. Please bring it with you next time.
Health insurance card, or My Number Card
Needed on your first visit, and again at the start of each month. If you use a My Number Card, tap it on the card reader at the desk — and then still speak to the receptionist, as tapping alone does not check you in.
Your medication record book
Anything that shows what you are currently taking. The medicines themselves are fine too.
A referral letter or recent test results
If another clinic or hospital has given you one, hand it in at reception.
Any medical subsidy certificate
If you hold a certificate for elderly care, disability care or child healthcare support, please show it as well.
Show your card at reception. You pay only your usual share of the cost, in the same way as any other patient.
You can still see a doctor. This applies to people visiting Japan for a short stay. In that case you pay the full cost yourself.
If you are covered by travel insurance from your own country, the usual way is to pay here first and claim it back from your insurer after you go home. Please keep the receipt we give you.

You can see a doctor from home by video. These consultations are given by Dr. Tetsuya Kanai, in English.
Please note: the app is available in Japanese only. You will need to register your insurance card and a credit card to use it. If setting it up is difficult, please come to the clinic instead — no app is needed for a visit in person.
We see patients from junior high school age and older
For younger children, please visit a pediatric clinic (小児科 / shonika).

We cannot take bookings by phone
Our phone line is in Japanese only. Simply coming during opening hours is the easiest way.
Health checkups are available
We handle company checkups, Chiba City checkups and pre-employment checkups. Weekday mornings only, and booking in advance is required. This service is guided in Japanese only.
